John Murphy is a true professional, if you’re looking for a motivated Realtor, one that truly understands today’s market then John is your man! A little story on our situation, we arrived in Melbourne with a short suspense in finding a home, at first we checked out a beautiful home, we saw John Murphy’s sign so we called him on a late Saturday afternoon, he responded extremely quickly with setting up a showing the next day. Once we checked out the house we informed him that we were looking for something different and we then explained the home style etc…, he then said give me your e-mail I can give you a listing of homes to show on Monday. The rest was history not only did he understand the home my wife and I were looking for he walked us through the entire process from start to finish. In the military it can be scary trying to purchase a home from overseas however, John made the process so easy, taking any worry out of the home purchase. In closing, not only is John an awesome Realtor he is now our new Friend…

I can express my experience shopping for a home with John Murphy of RE/MAX Elite with one word… Professionalism.
My home search process began with John prior to my PCS to Patrick AFB, FL from New York. He was gracious enough to send me a DVD of the surrounding areas, of which I received within days of the request.
Upon my arrival to Patrick, John let me know that as soon as I was ready to start viewing homes, he could get me in some within a few days. True to his word, we were and he was even more detailed about issues found in the homes than I. After a couple weeks of searching, I determined the homes we were looking at were not going to meet my needs. Within a day I was receiving new listings of homes just as I requested.
Throughout the home search process, we had offers rejected, and issues with financing, but no matter how discouraged I became, John worked even harder with my best interest mind. Also, John will not allow other realtors, builders, or sellers to try and push something over on you. His knowledge of homes and construction are based on years of experience spent with his father, who was a contractor, and gave me that extra confidence and satisfaction of knowing no one was going to take advantage of me during this process.
Finally I found the right home and made an offer, and then a counter offer, not to mention having multiple issues from contract to closing, but John kept working to mitigate them, even assisting the sellers as their realtor basically left them hanging, and assured me I would have my home. Though there was some concern with the bank and closing on time, thanks to John, I was given my keys to the home on the day of closing.
Though the process was a roller coaster at times, this was not at all due to something John wasn’t doing for me. He went above and beyond. The only negative about the guy is that he’s a Pittsburgh Penguins fan, and even that isn’t TOO bad.
I have no plans of ever moving again, but should I need or have to, I will not do it without John Murphy. He made getting me into the home I wanted his personal mission, and did so to my every satisfaction… true professionalism!

Our experience with John Murphy was fantastic; Twice over a period of several months John took time out of his busy Saturday afternoons to show my family and I around and helped us familiarize ourselves with the area. His knowledge on the area is second to none as he was able to point out all the great neighborhoods and excellent school districts we were looking for. Knowing we had no intentions of making a purchase in the next 6 months we were still treated as if we were choosing that day, he even offered to help us move in on closing day! We are finally living in our newly constructed home and it looks beautiful.
I owe John Murphy a large debt of gratitude for his hard work in finding us a home. His expertise in the local housing market was obvious from the first day. It was nice to have a agent that deals with the military and who genuinely cares about our active duty folks (as opposed to a slogan or cliche remark made in passing). While he was patient and professional, what we valued most was his integrity.
I found this website extremely helpful as I contemplated buying in a scary housing market from several thousand miles away. Through the website, I received updated property lists anytime a new home with my specific requirements was listed. There was no high pressure tactics from the time I requested the property information on his website to the day we closed on our new construction 3 months later. I also went to several other websites including AHRN.com (the DOD-contracted website for relocations) and John Murphy’s website blows all of them away easy.
I have dealt with several agents in the past and John is top notch. We don’t plan on ever selling the great house he found us, but if we did, John would be our guy. We would have no reservations recommending him to a close friend or family.

My wife, Shannon, and I met John the day after we PCS’d to Patrick AFB. From day one we felt we were in good hands. Being completely new to the Space Coast, we wanted to find a realtor who was knowledgeable of the local area, considerate to what WE wanted, and patient with us and our 3 children ages 7, 4, and 1. John was just that.
From day 1, he had selected homes suitable for our family. On day 2, you knew he was paying attention on the oh so long day 1 as he’d add new homes on our ‘to see list’ based on our feedback/impressions the previous day. You don’t get that from every realtor, and if you do, it’s more of a desperate attempt to ‘show you another’ than it is to show you something that’s more up your alley. The days moved on… and on, but everyday he had other options for us to consider and didn’t hesitate to reshow us a home or area we were potentially interested in. He’d always offer his personal opinion if you were looking for it which was helpful in many decisions. Throughout it all, he’d talk to you professionally, but like a friend who really cared. John also was very interested in the Air Force and often voiced his support for what I and my family do. And the big bonus; he was great with the kids if the wife and I had to talk out a problem or make a decision of some sort on our own – and you know there were MANY of those moments!
By the end of a week, we had most of the Space Coast scoped out, and we realized that the most cost-effective way to get what we wanted was in fact to build. John was fully supportive of this and was there throughout the building process to offer his expertise/support. A long and delayed 6 months later our home was complete and John could finally be paid! He never once pressured us, made us feel ‘cheap’, or grew weary (much). His patience was second to none; Shannon and I are extremely glad we found John on www.AmericanAirmanHomes.com, and we would certainly recommend his realtor services to anyone looking for a home to buy/sell.
