About Patrick Air Force Base:
Patrick AFB is located on one of the outermost barrier islands in Brevard County FL. The whole area is colloquially know as the "Space Coast" The base is located just south of the world famous Cocoa Beach and just north of Satellite Beach, and is between the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Banana River to the west The base and the Canaveral Air Station cover roughly 2300 acres. In 1950 Patrick AFB was renamed for Major General Mason M. Patrick. General Patrick had been Chief of the American Expeditionary Forces Air Services in World War I. The mission of Patrick Air Force Base is to provide combat capabilities through Eastern Range, launch, and expeditionary operations. Hence its motto: Control of the battlefield begins here.
Upon Arriving:
The main gate is open 24 hours and is located on Highway A1A. Your first stop should be with your commander’s support staff. If you arrive after hours or on a weekend, you may sign in at the 24 hour arrival point located in the lodging office in building 720.
All vehicles must be registered on Patrick AFB within 30 days of your arrival
Housing:
Military members with dependents who have orders to Patrick AFB or Cape Canaveral AFS, may apply for on base housing by completing for DD 1746. BAH covers rents, utilities, trash collections, and repairs. Military members are required to report to the housing office upon arrival.

FAMCAMP is a camping facility located in the Survival Area of Patrick AFB, on the shores of the Banana River. There are five primitive campsites and 55 campsites with electric and water hookups. There are also laundry, toilet and shower facilities.

A scenic 18-hole golf course, par 72, is located between the Banana River and the Atlantic Ocean covering 260 acres.
